A MESSAGE FROM ELAINE AND THE GUYS

A TRIBUTE TO FIRST RESPONDERS AND HEALTH CARE WORKERS

Hello Celtic Thunder fans,

All of us at Celtic Thunder are very grateful to the First Responders, Healthcare and Front Line workers for their dedication to humanity during this worldwide pandemic. Celtic Thunder are delighted to announce that they have been making protective face masks for these dedicated heroes, and have already supplied some to local firehouses and ER staff workers. These masks have an antimicrobial inner layer, an N95 filter insert and cotton top layer. The masks are light, breathable and washable with many designs being made to accommodate First Responders requests. Your generous donation will help in the production of these masks and get them out to First Responders and Health Care workers so they can continue to save lives and feel safe in their environment.

We hope you are all staying safe and well during this very strange time in all of our lives wherever you may be. Our Celtic Thunder family is worldwide and this COVID-19 pandemic has taken a significant toll on people all across the world dealing with the unforeseen challenges it has presented. We are all uncertain with many questions as to how long will this pandemic last and what will our lives look like once it’s over, but for now all we can do is try to stay safe, respect and follow the directives we’ve been given, and hopefully get through this. Here in Ireland next week we are having some restrictions lifted and I know you have already started in other countries too. Here’s praying all goes well as we are all in this together.

As always you, the fans, have been in touch with me wondering how are the guys doing? Are Dec Sharon, Chris, myself and all the Celtic Thunder family safe? You are so kind and thoughtful. Well the good news is we are all well, although perhaps a little “stir crazy”!!! Even as COVID-19 heightens and emphasizes disconnection, it has in its strange way inspired a revival of meaningful connections between people, which is so nice to see. I have seen a collective outpouring of human good will during this crisis. Families are spending more time together, people are coming together to take care of their neighbors, and we are all looking out for each other more; and perhaps realizing that material things are not necessarily the most important things in life. So many of us will never take for granted again how wonderful a hug from a friend feels, or how great it is to just get to spend time together talking and laughing.

Finally all of us in Celtic Thunder want to say a huge thank you to all our front line workers Worldwide – the hospital staff Doctors, Nurses, Care givers, Janitors, Administrators, dieticians, cooks, and cleaners, everyone who keeps the hospitals functioning. Thank you to the Fire Departments, Police, EMT and Ambulance crews. Thank you to the people in the grocery stores, the people ensuring we still have gas and electricity, transport and so many things we could not function without that maybe I have not mentioned. To all of these people we want to say you are so brave and we appreciate you for all that you do.  Thank you for your love, kindness, strength, care and dedication.

A special thanks to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band from San Diego, CA for the inspiring First Responders Tribute video.

Stay safe and God Bless.

Elaine and all the Celtic Thunder family.
