HOUSE OF WATERFORD CRYSTAL

On the 19th August, Waterford Crystal welcomed its one millionth visitor, Gladys Aycock from North Carolina.

Gladys who traveled to Waterford and Irelands Ancient East for the first time became the milestone visitor to Waterford Crystal when she booked an escorted tour with Globus Luxury Tours. Upon arriving at the House of the Waterford Crystal, the family was greeted with a VIP reception, led by the Mayor of Waterford City and County and Sales & Marketing Director David McCoy, before cutting a celebratory cake which was shared with visitors from across the world that joined the celebrations!

The VIP Experience included a personal tour of the factory, where Gladys got an opportunity to work with master blowers and cutters manufacturing the World Famous Waterford Crystal. To mark the event, the team at Waterford Crystal manufactured a crystal key. The piece was crafted by Michael Murphy a Master Sculptor at the factory. With this unique crystal key, Gladys will always be a VIP guest of Waterford Crystal. Gladys, said, “To be named Waterford Crystal’s one-millionth visitor was a wonderful surprise and it certainly made it a very memorable trip. From the moment we arrived, the impressive factory and brand experience, located by the Viking Triangle was a fantastic experience to enjoy Waterford in its home.

David McCoy Sales & Marketing Director, commented, “We take great pride in the many visitors from Ireland and abroad that travel to visit our factory and brand experience. Waterford Crystal is the worlds No.1 crystal brand and our experience offers an engaging and unique insight into the manufacturing process, which enables us to create these wonderful products.
